Renewable energy technologies like solar panels, air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and biomass are becoming increasingly popular as we look for effective alternatives to fossil fuels, and to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions.

Wilson Plumbing and Heating have experienced engineers trained in renewable energy sources, and will be happy to discuss suitable options with you. Feasibility studies will be carried out to ensure the property is suitable for the chosen energy source.

Solar can be used in two main ways to provide electricity and to provide hot water. Solar heating systems use the heat from the sun to work alongside a conventional water heater. Wilson Plumbing and Heating are MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accredited installers for Solar Thermal.

Ground source heat pumps use a ground loop to pump heat from the ground. The loop can either be buried horizontally in a trench or vertically in a borehole.

Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the air outside. Air to water pumps heat water, and are ideal for under floor heating as the temperature is lower than that heated by a standard boiler system. Air to Air pumps produce warm air to be circulated by fans.

Wilson plumbing and Heating engineers are trained in all areas of renewable technology. We will be happy to discuss and advise which technology would be suitable for your property and requirements, and provide a free estimate.
